Electric Wire Hustle – “Brother Sun”

Following their second LP breakthrough, Love Can Prevail, New Zealand-based neo-soul duo Electric Wire Hustle are back with the Kimbra-featuring “Brother Sun,” a single off their forthcoming Aeon EP, due out August 28 on Bastard Jazz Recordings.

“Brother Sun” has a sad groove that feels like a winded-down disco party. With soul vocal loops and a steady wave of grainy synths that slowly washes over, the track feels like a mix between Washed Out’s faded Chillwave and a dash of Kimbra’s electro-pop sensibilities. It’s a steady hypnotic number that doesn’t offer instant adrenaline, instead choosing to lull you into the track’s faded but glowing feeling.
