There are few bands that hold the title of customer consistency quite like Mogwai do. The Scottish post-rock outfit have been together for over twenty years, changing their style more than a few times along the way. Their first album, Young Team, is as influential as it is underrated, going beyond the grade of oh my god this sounds so fucking good status.

As for their latest release, Music Industry 3 Fitness Industry 1, Mogwai go forward with their distorted bliss, combining enough guitar riffs and scattered cymbals to ease and engage your mind each time you tune in. Their earlier work shows them dabbling around in emo-emotive territory, but this fresher effort perfectly demonstrates their ever-flowing stay at the top of Pitchfork’s cold heart.

Check out my review later this week…
