Go: Les Sins @ Verbotten

Les Sins, side project of Toro y Moi’s Chaz Bundick, just released ‘Michael’ via Company Records and he’ll be playing at Verboten in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on 11/12. Michael is a sweet combo of 80’s pop, synthy classic house, hip hop elements, and techno.

After releasing a 12″ on Carpark Records and two singles for Jiaolong Records, Les Sins is dusting off his dancing shoes to release his debut studio album, Michael, coming on November 4thTaking inspiration from cartoons and movie soundtracks, Les Sins, the dance project of Chaz Bundick, blends familiar dance and pop sounds with catchy, repetitive vocal hooks, beats and synths influenced by house, techno, and French electronic, all pulled together with a classic ’90s hip-hop production style that Bundick imagines being the perfect music for the neon-lit, fast paced Ginza district in Tokyo.
Michael comes via Company Records, a new partnership between Bundick and Carpark Records. Bundick, known to most as Toro y Moi, recorded all of Michael in his home studio over the last two years. The mostly instrumental album also features guest vocals from Berkeley singer-songwriter  Nate Salman. While taking inspiration from fellow musicians, Bundick found most of the inspiration for Michael from P. Rand, his favorite graphic designer, who said, “Don’t try to be original, just try to be good.”  Fans new and old will have the opportunity to preview new Les Sinsmusic first at this weekends FYF Festival in Los Angeles – more information here: fyffest.com
