ANAMAI the Toronto based experimental folk duo has recently publicly shared “Half” from their debut album Swallow, which is due to come out March 10th via Buzz records. The song itself is slow, dark, entrancing, and has a way of soothingly sucking you into a vacuum-like space in which time has become elongated. This concept works to mirror one of the songs main themes “the death of time” itself as the sound of chambered vocals and droning guitars takes over, one can’t help but to lose themselves in the moment.
“ANAMAI is comprised of members Anna Mayberry (HSY) and David Psutka (Egyptrixx, Hiawatha)…ANAMAI explores the contradictory nature of intimacy by releasing quiet confessions in a vast, amorphous lake of noise.”
