Sundogs are a band that have Steely Dan vibes, by way of later records from The Who. “I Want It Now” features impressive guitar work and potently on beat drumming. Give it a listen below and let us know what you think!

“Mystery Car” sounds like a lost song off SD’s album Aja, but the lyrics are in the slippery, trippy department, reminiscent of Phish’s Trey Anastasio. “One of them called a tow truck, it is well on the way, we have to strike while the iron is hot and make our getaway” flows as well as the distorted guitar behind it. Definitely check it out.

“Comin’ Back Home” keeps the 90’s Phished out, fuzzed out aesthetic. The piano rolls here are sweeping, increasing the fun but bringing a narrative about a 9 – 5 floozy trying to head back home… wherever that might be.

The guitar here is brilliant. Stan Snow has quite an ability to shred solos. Whether going acoustic or getting louder on his Les Paul, the vocal work on The Code is as strong of the barhop movie referenced stories the Sundogs conjure.

If you like to listen to smart, twisted lyrics… give them a listen. However, if cross-tempo smooth ass jazz is more of your fancy… give them a listen.
