Review: Serinity Lynn – U & Me

If you took the current climate of the Ariana Grande stanbase and combined it with the cheesy-yet-cutesy songs of Rebecca Black, you’d have an adequate idea of how the latest Serinity Lynn sounds to me.

“U & Me” officially drops in two days. Here is a version from two years ago you should check out too!

Based in Sacramento, CA , the 18-year old singer/songwriter has been performing and playing music since she was 5 years old. So, with “U & Me,” the song is shows her semisweet musical chops off. The chorus is engaging, and overall, probably the best part of the song aside from Lynn’s direct, honest lyrics through out the course of the track.

There are definitely Carly Rae comparisons to be made, but Lynn has awhile to go before she procures a definite sound. Where Ariana borders on hot to trot sex appeal instead of quality narrative consistence in her music, Lynn has a wholesome sound as well as the raw appeal Carly has.

It seems like Serinity’s music is more important to her than her platform and public image. With that in mind, I eagerly await her string of future projects. “U & Me” showcases an artist intent on marketing herself successfully without selling herself, as well as her artistic integrity, short.

Give the song a listen for yourself.
