Review: Blunda – Pulling For You

Pulling For You is a five track EP that soars through an amalgam of different soundscapes. With the airy vocal tread of Chris Martin, Blunda shows off his range of televisually successful music.

The artist composed the background tunes for Season 5 of Jay Leno’s Garage, and when the pandemic hit, he took a step back to reflect on his life and career. When the world was on fire, literally and metaphorically, he turned to his music. Listen to the last track of this EP, Carry On, below.

This song is a mellow facemelter, and with lyrics so strong, the music combines with them to orchestrate every feeling that Blunda has felt over the past few months. His optimism. His pain. His thoughts on life moving forward… and for a five song EP, the album itself shows off the terrific range that Blunda has.

The opener and the the closer of this album are shining examples of how capable Blunda is as an artist. Both tracks sound so different, but with a unique charm that lends itself to no one but the artist himself.

Sure, there are times where the early Coldplay acoustic angle is heard a bit more frequently than other sounds, but Andy Blunda produced, mixed, and recorded a project here that is completely his own. Give it a listen. It’s worth your time.
