Cloud Atlas is one of those movies that is a hard sell for its epic proportions or epic aspirations. Sure, having Tom Hanks leading this cast of interwoven stories that sprawl across the history of humanity eases one’s mind, however, the rest of the cast being mostly unknown doesn’t help its intentions. Also: the “creators of The Matrix Trilogy” shtick is really dated and irrelevant at this point, we all know that The Matrix is really just the first movie and that’s it.
